Everllence Introduces Engine-Integrated Air Lubrication System
Everllence has launched a new technology linking hull air lubrication directly with main engine operations to reduce vessel fuel burn and lower regulatory exposure.

Maritime technology developer Everllence has introduced a propulsion efficiency mechanism designated as Engine Supported Air Lubrication (ESAL). The system couples hull air-lubrication capabilities directly with the vessel's main engine in an effort to boost overall propulsion performance across the commercial fleet.
Announced in a corporate statement on 2 September, the system is presented as a practical solution designed to reduce fuel consumption, diminish compliance and regulatory exposure, and improve general operational efficiency by integrating air delivery with engine mechanics.
Alongside the commercial release, the developer issued a technical white paper titled "A leap in vessel energy efficiency advancement with engine-supported air lubrication." The document frames direct efficiency gains as a critical and accessible initial milestone for the shipping sector's broader push toward net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.
As vessel operators face tightening global environmental requirements, integrated hydrodynamic and machinery adaptations are increasingly targeted to lower baseline fuel demand across conventional propulsion systems.
