CMA CGM, Bureau Veritas and SDARI Collaborate on AI-Assisted Vessel Design
A joint development initiative between CMA CGM, Bureau Veritas, and SDARI will explore artificial intelligence and digital decision-support systems for commercial vessels.

French ocean carrier CMA CGM, classification society Bureau Veritas (BV), and the Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute (SDARI) have initiated a collaborative study focused on the development of an assisted containership concept.
The tripartite framework was established through the signing of a Joint Development Project (JDP) agreement during the SMM maritime trade exhibition.
Under the partnership, the three organizations will investigate the application of advanced digital solutions, artificial intelligence, and specialized decision-support systems on board modern commercial tonnage.
The project aims to determine how intelligent automated technologies and data-driven analytical tools can be leveraged to optimize and enhance maritime vessel operations.
