Independence
Editorial decisions are made by the newsroom. Advertisers, sponsors and commercial partners have no input into story selection, framing or conclusions. Any commercially supported content is labelled as such and is not produced by the editorial team.
Sourcing and verification
Every article records the primary sources it draws on, with publisher, publication time, retrieval time and a link. Claims that cannot be traced to a named source, a market assessment or a document are not published.
Numerical claims — index levels, fixture rates, cargo volumes — are checked against the originating source before publication and are labelled with their as-of time.
Review before publication
No article reaches the site without a named human editor approving it. Reviewers check factual accuracy, source attribution, originality against the source text, headline accuracy and legal risk.
