FuelTech and Reederei M. Lauterjung Form Bio-LNG Equipment Collaboration
Danish technology provider FuelTech has partnered with Germany's Sunship Schiffahrtskontor KG Reederei M. Lauterjung to optimize gas valve train operations on bio-LNG.

Danish marine engineering specialist FuelTech has entered into a technical partnership with German ship management company Sunship Schiffahrtskontor KG Reederei M. Lauterjung. The agreement was finalized during the SMM trade exhibition in Hamburg.
The collaboration centers on the servicing, upkeep, and long-term operating reliability of FuelTech's Gas Valve Trains (GVTs). The equipment is designed for dual-fuel marine engines and has been adapted to handle bio-LNG bunkered for vessel propulsion.
FuelTech, which develops systems for dual-fuel propulsion plants running on alternative bunker fuels, intends to use the operational deployment to gather performance data on bio-LNG handling across standard voyage profiles.
The engineering firm noted that accumulating practical operating experience will assist the wider maritime industry's adoption of bio-LNG as a transitional fuel, while keeping dual-fuel engines operating safely and dependably in gas mode.
