Fugro Joins European Digital Twin Ocean Initiative Under Horizon Europe
Geo-data specialist Fugro has partnered with the EU-backed OCEANITY project to develop predictive decision-making applications for coastal and marine environments.

Geo-data group Fugro has joined the OCEANITY project, a research initiative backed by the Horizon Europe framework to advance the development of the European Digital Twin Ocean.
Operating within the broader European Digital Twin Ocean framework, known as EDITO, OCEANITY focuses on co-designing decision-ready applications for coastal and maritime stakeholders. Fugro will collaborate with consortium partners to integrate advanced marine datasets into the platform.
The initiative is designed to allow government bodies, industrial sectors, and broader coastal communities to simulate and evaluate the potential outcomes of marine activities before implementation. By testing scenarios in a digital environment, stakeholders can evaluate operational and ecological consequences in advance.
The project addresses intensifying environmental and climate challenges across European waters. Through enhanced digital modeling and predictive data, the platform aims to deliver actionable insights that support sustainable marine governance and operational planning.
