Hapag-Lloyd Introduces Demurrage Tracking Feature for US Inbound Cargo
The ocean carrier has updated its digital platform to give United States import customers direct tracking of port demurrage deadlines.

Ocean carrier Hapag-Lloyd has rolled out an update to its digital customer platform aimed at increasing transparency around port-level container dwell times across the United States.
Under the enhancement to the carrier's Import Overview tool, eligible US cargo interests can access specific terminal deadlines directly through the company's Online Business Suite.
The upgraded digital interface specifically provides visibility into the Import Demurrage Last Free Day assigned to individual inbound containers.
This displayed date marks the final day a container can remain at the terminal before port demurrage penalties begin to accrue, assisting shippers in monitoring operational timeframes.
