Kongsberg Maritime and Norwegian Partners Launch WINTEGRATE Wind Propulsion Project
A consortium of Norwegian maritime companies and research institutions has secured up to NOK 68 million to advance wind-assisted commercial shipping.

Kongsberg Maritime and a collaborative group of Norwegian maritime enterprises and research organizations have initiated WINTEGRATE, a major research and development project focused on speeding up the deployment of wind propulsion technology within commercial shipping.
The venture has been granted funding of up to NOK 68 million under Norway's Green Platform programme, a state initiative designed to support sustainable industrial innovation and green transition efforts.
WINTEGRATE is centered on engineering new technologies and operational methodologies to resolve the technical and practical challenges associated with wind-assisted propulsion systems on commercial merchant vessels.
The collaborative effort represents another move within the Scandinavian maritime cluster to foster alternative propulsion methods as global shipping works to reduce emissions and integrate cleaner power sources into deep-sea transport.
