La Spezia Container Terminal (LSCT) has committed €90 million (approximately $105 million) to a comprehensive equipment modernization program aimed at boosting quayside and yard handling capabilities.

The investment covers the acquisition of four new ship-to-shore (STS) gantry cranes alongside 18 units of dedicated yard handling equipment.

The incoming STS cranes will be engineered to service the largest container vessels in operation, providing the outreach and height necessary to work ships with capacities of up to 24,000 TEU.

LSCT operates as an operating subsidiary of Contship Italia, which is part of the European terminal operator Eurogate group.
