Leonhardt & Blumberg Orders Two More MR Tankers at GSI
The Hamburg-based shipowner has extended its newbuilding series at Guangzhou Shipyard International with two additional 49,500 dwt product and chemical tankers.

German shipowner Leonhardt & Blumberg has expanded its newbuilding programme by ordering a pair of medium-range (MR) chemical and product tankers from Guangzhou Shipyard International.
The contract covers two 49,500 dwt vessels to be constructed at the Chinese yard, a subsidiary facility of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC).
This latest order expands an existing construction run at the shipyard that the Hamburg-headquartered company initially launched two years ago.
The deal represents a continuation of Leonhardt & Blumberg's recent expansion into the tanker segment, adding further scale to its liquid cargo portfolio under construction in China.
