Maersk to Cut Free Truck Waiting Time at Civitavecchia to Two Hours
Danish shipping line Maersk is scheduled to lower its free waiting time allowance for inland transport at Civitavecchia, Italy, tightening turnaround limits for local trucking.

Maersk has scheduled an adjustment to its overland transport operating terms at the Italian port city of Civitavecchia, curbing the permitted free waiting window for local road haulage.
Beginning 1 October 2026, the carrier's standard waiting allowance will be lowered from three hours to two hours. The duration will continue to be measured directly from the time a truck arrives at the scheduled loading or unloading site.
The revised terms will apply across both import and export container movements, standardising the reduced haulage threshold across all local freight operations connected to the port.
Under the updated policy, any dwell time that extends beyond the newly established two-hour limit will be subject to applicable overage conditions, marking a tighter operational limit for terminal and customer turn times in the region.
