Manta Marine Technologies and Foreship Partner on Air Lubrication Systems
A new framework agreement sees MMT take commercial responsibility for Foreship-designed air lubrication technology across retrofit and newbuild sectors.

Manta Marine Technologies (MMT) has entered into a framework agreement with naval architecture and engineering firm Foreship by RINA to collaborate on the delivery of air lubrication systems to the global shipping fleet.
Under the arrangement, MMT will assume full responsibility for the deployment and management of the Manta Air Lubrication solution. The technology is developed based on the proprietary air lubrication system design engineered by Foreship.
According to MMT, the underlying technology has demonstrated commercial maturity, having already been installed on more than 25 vessels. The system has been designed for broad integration across the maritime sector, suitable for both vessel retrofit projects and newbuilding specifications.
The company reports that the air lubrication technology typically achieves net fuel savings ranging from 3% to 8%, with performance outcomes dependent on vessel design and operational characteristics.
