ORLEN and Port of Gdynia Partner on LNG and BioLNG Bunkering Study
A new partnership between Polish energy company ORLEN and the Port of Gdynia Authority will evaluate the viability of supplying LNG and bioLNG as marine fuels.

Polish energy group ORLEN has entered into a formal agreement with the Port of Gdynia Authority to investigate the potential development of LNG and bioLNG marine bunkering services at the port.
Under the partnership, both parties will assess commercial market demand for low-carbon gaseous marine fuels. The study will analyze the overall potential for supplying LNG and bioLNG to vessels calling at the Polish Baltic hub.
The initiative will also review the technical, operational, and regulatory frameworks required to support alternative fuel distribution. This work will include identifying the necessary infrastructure investments and defining the local compliance conditions for handling such fuels.
A central focus of the joint evaluation is the operational feasibility of waterside refueling. The partners will examine the practical requirements for conducting ship-to-ship bunkering transfers to accommodate future vessel traffic.
