Teesport Handles Major 5,000-Vehicle Import Shipment from China
PD Ports has completed the discharge of 5,000 Chery Automotive vehicles at Teesport, marking one of the UK facility's largest automotive calls in recent years.

Port operator PD Ports has received a substantial automotive consignment at Teesport, taking delivery of 5,000 vehicles manufactured in China. The arrival represents one of the largest single automotive vessel calls handled at the North East England port facility in recent years.
The large-scale delivery forms a central component of an import campaign into the United Kingdom by Chery Automotive. The operation underscores the port's capacity to manage high-volume roll-on/roll-off deep-sea cargo from major Asian manufacturing hubs.
The discharged cargo comprised a broad selection of vehicles from across the Chery portfolio. The consignment included models under the Jaecoo brand as well as standard Chery-badged units destined for the domestic market.
Additionally, the shipment marked the arrival of the first 1,300 Lepas plug-in hybrid vehicles brought into the terminal. The discharge represents a key logistics milestone for both the port operator and the automotive manufacturer as vehicle imports expand.
