Yangzijiang Maritime Expands Fleet with Up to 12 Chinese Newbuilds
The Singapore-listed owner has added up to 10 ultramax bulk carriers and further tanker tonnage in a series of shipyard contracts.

Singapore-listed Yangzijiang Maritime Development has expanded its ongoing fleet investment program by entering into contracts for up to 12 newbuildings across two Chinese shipyards.
The Ren Yuanlin-led enterprise has committed to six firm 64,500 dwt ultramax bulkers at Jingjiang Nanyang Shipbuilding. The agreement also provides options for the construction of up to four additional sister vessels at the facility.
The latest commitments extend a broader ordering strategy by the company that spans dry bulk tonnage as well as product and chemical tankers.
In addition to the ultramax order at Jingjiang Nanyang Shipbuilding, Yangzijiang Maritime has finalized a separate shipbuilding arrangement to complete the 12-vessel newbuilding package.
