Chinese Fabricators Secure Jacket Work for QatarEnergy LNG Expansion
Qingdao McDermott Wuchuan and CNPC Offshore Engineering have finalized an agreement to construct jackets for the North Field West development.

Two Qingdao-based offshore fabrication specialists, Qingdao McDermott Wuchuan Offshore Engineering and the Qingdao branch of CNPC Offshore Engineering, have entered into a formal agreement to construct offshore jackets destined for QatarEnergy LNG's North Field West expansion.
The manufacturing contract represents the first concrete assignment enacted under a wider strategic partnership framework that the two Chinese engineering companies established in April.
According to the participating yards, the scope of work will combine the joint manufacturing resources and technical expertise of both facilities to meet the delivery requirements of the major Middle Eastern gas infrastructure project.
The development marks an additional milestone in international offshore fabrication support for Qatar's ongoing expansion of its liquefied natural gas production capacity.
