Dorian LPG Linked to Three-Ship VLGC Order at Hanwha Ocean
Market sources connect the New York-listed owner to a $349 million newbuilding contract for three VLGCs in South Korea.

South Korean shipbuilder Hanwha Ocean has secured a firm contract to construct three very large gas carriers (VLGCs), with market sources linking the transaction to New York-listed Dorian LPG.
The three-vessel order is valued at KRW 477.8 billion (approximately $349 million). In its formal announcement of the deal, the shipbuilder did not name the American owner, registering the commissioning client solely as an Oceania-based entity.
According to the construction timeline disclosed by the yard, all three gas carriers are scheduled for delivery by December 6, 2030.
Broking reports and market intelligence have subsequently identified Dorian LPG as the party behind the contract, representing another high-value gas shipping commitment placed at a South Korean yard.
