Maersk Implements Fee Increases for Ecuador Reefer Cooling Services
Ocean carrier Maersk is adjusting origin and destination cooling service charges for refrigerated container shipments connected to Ecuador.

Maersk has announced an upward revision to its cooling service charges for refrigerated container traffic moving to and from Ecuador. The carrier will apply the rate adjustment across both origin and destination operations handling temperature-controlled units.
Under the updated pricing schedule, the cooling service fee will increase from the current level of US$130 per container to US$140 per container. This ten-dollar adjustment affects refrigerated cargo flows tied to Ecuadorian trade lanes.
The implementation schedule is split according to regulatory jurisdictions. For trades involving non-regulated territories, the revised US$140 rate is slated to take effect from 29 August 2026.
For cargo movements connected to regulated countries, Maersk will introduce the updated fee structure beginning 27 September 2026.
