Spanish energy group Repsol has launched bunkering operations at the Port of Chancay in Peru, marking the commencement of marine fuelling services at the newly established Pacific gateway.

The company confirmed its inaugural operation involved the supply of 740 metric tonnes of very low sulphur fuel oil (VLSFO) to a container vessel calling at the terminal.

The fuel transfer was executed by the 20,000 DWT tanker Thomas B. Repsol has integrated the vessel into its regional supply network to service maritime traffic arriving at the Peruvian port.

In addition to the Thomas B, Repsol has deployed the 16,000 DWT tanker Adrian to Peruvian waters. The two-vessel presence is intended to maintain continuous, round-the-clock delivery capabilities across the market.

Through this operational setup, the company plans to provide uninterrupted supplies of various bunker grades, including VLSFO, high sulphur fuel oil (HSFO), and low sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO) to commercial vessels operating along the South American coast.
