Global Container Shipments Set All-Time Monthly Record in July
Worldwide container traffic reached 17.3 million teu in July, surpassing the prior record established in May, according to data from Container Trades Statistics.

Worldwide container movements climbed to unprecedented levels in July, driven by strong volumes across international shipping lanes. Data released by Container Trades Statistics (CTS) indicates that global liftings reached 17.3 million teu during the month.
The performance established a new all-time high for container volumes shipped in a single calendar month. The total surpassed the previous record set earlier this year in May by approximately 25,000 teu.
CTS noted that the volume surge extended beyond an isolated monthly peak, pointing to broader underlying strength in the market. On an annual basis, global traffic in July expanded by 4.5% compared with the same month last year.
Year-to-date performance also reflects sustained growth in global freight movement. Cumulative volumes for the year are currently tracking 5.1% ahead of the figures recorded over the corresponding timeframe in the previous year.
