Lloyd's Register Grants Approval in Principle for Huangpu Wenchong LNG Bunker Vessel Design
CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding has secured classification approval from Lloyd's Register for a new 12,500 cbm LNG bunkering vessel concept.

Classification society Lloyd's Register has awarded an Approval in Principle to CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co. for a new 12,500 cubic metre liquefied natural gas bunkering vessel design.
The certification was officially presented during the SMM trade fair, confirming that the vessel concept has passed an independent review against the classification society's updated technical and safety requirements.
The 12,500 cbm vessel design integrates Type C LNG cargo containment tanks. As part of the assessment procedure, Lloyd's Register evaluated the technical specifications against notations covering specialized gas operations, shipboard automation, environmental performance, and cyber resilience.
The approval reflects ongoing design developments in the auxiliary fleet segment aimed at supporting the transfer and supply of alternative marine fuels across the global shipping industry.
