Swire Shipping to Absorb Project Cargo Unit and Purchase Multipurpose Vessels
Singapore-based carrier consolidates Swire Projects into its central brand while securing direct ownership of four leased heavylift ships.

Swire Shipping is set to fully integrate its dedicated project and heavy-lift division, Swire Projects, into its primary brand identity starting this November. The corporate restructuring brings the specialized unit directly under the umbrella of the Singapore-headquartered ocean carrier.
Alongside the brand integration, the company is bolstering its investment in the multipurpose fleet underpinning its heavy-lift operations. The move reflects an ongoing commitment to serving specialized industrial and project cargo markets.
As part of this fleet strategy, Swire Shipping has agreed to purchase four multipurpose heavylift vessels. These four ships are among a total of six chartered vessels that have been trading within the Swire Projects network under leasing structures.
Transitioning the vessels to owned status aims to provide greater operational control as the business transition takes effect. The unified brand structure will handle both standard shipping lines and specialized project forwarding through Swire Shipping's single commercial framework.
